Description: We visited Duong Quang Ham High School, a high school in the province of Hung Yen, yesterday. We got the chance to share Next Gen 2030 technologies, STEAM employment options, the FIRST Global Challenge, and Team Vietnam’s journey. In addition to introducing Team Vietnam’s robots at the FGC 2018 and Duong Quang Ham’s robot at the Vietnam Robotics Challenge, we also prepared a mini-game for students to practice operating a robot. After that, we spoke with the STEM club at Duong Quang Ham High School about our experiences creating technology clubs, organizing STEM activities, and creating STEM communities. Team Vietnam also had time to share the difficulties of building a local STEM club with the STEM club and teachers, principal from Duong Quang Ham High School.
Purpose of Project:
- Sharing Next Gen 2030 technologies, STEAM employment options, the FIRST Global Challenge, and Team Vietnam’s journey.
- Introducing Team Vietnam’s robots at the FGC 2018 and Duong Quang Ham’s robot at the Vietnam Robotics Challenge 2022.
- Organizing a mini-game for students to practice operating a robot.
- Building STEAM & Robotics Club in Duong Quang Ham High school.
Business Case:
- Duong Quang Ham High School is a high school in Hung Yen Province (rural area in Vietnam). This school has a Robotics team to participate in Vietnam Robotics Challenge 2022 which was formed by students. There are no activities on STEAM, Robotics, no club about STEAM & Robotics yet. Students are not supported in extracurricular activities.
- Team Vietnam wants to build a STEAM club, bring Robotics and STEAM to the students at this school.
Goals:
- Introduced the concept of STEAM, Robotics and aroused interest in 1200 students at this school.
- Building a STEAM & Robotics club at Duong Quang Ham High school
- Change teachers’ mindsets, guide teachers on how to manage, build and support clubs.
Scope:
- In charge of the specialized section of the event.
